This class is designed  to flip staff development for Middle School ESL teachers during the 2014-15 school year. A "flipped" assignment will become visible in this course one week before each of four scheduled staff development classes. Complete each assignment as it becomes visible before the meeting date of its corresponding staff development session.

This course is designed for MISD administrators and teachers who participate as members of  Language Proficiency Acquisition Committees (LPACs) on their campuses. The information in this training will provide LPACs with the knowledge they need to comply with state requirements as they monitor the progress and needs of English Language Learners (ELLs).

This is the "flipped" portion of a three-hour staff development course. Participants will complete this lesson prior to the face-to-face session and return to this site after face-to-face instruction to complete a follow-up assignment.

This course is designed for all MISD teachers to develop skills in lesson design and delivery in order to address the linguistic needs of English language learners. If our English language learners are to become successful students, all teachers must plan and deliver lessons that are intentionally sheltered to address both content and linguistic goals.
